Our Story;
After years of experiencing the desperate need for the world around you to understand the importance of voice and the exchange of communication from one soul to another, there seems to be a gap. Finding that gap was a light bulb moment with our founder, Teresa and a world of knowledge, wisdom and entertainment came in the form of storytelling, narrating and expressive reading in her life. This form of communication grabs people's attention, opens up their heart and their mind and off you go: a connection begins and communication starts to flow, ideas come, the imagination blossoms and the world opens up to you.
Our Founder;
Let me tell you a little story about a girl from Utah. A country girl at heart steeped in the hard work, independence and the fresh air of rural community life. Teresa learned from a young age the importance of family and doing your part. Teamwork, communication, and holding up your end is a critical part of understanding the flow of listening and talking...especially the talking...lots of it...dramatic, expressive talking! From a young age Teresa learned the art of storytelling by giving voices and inventing exotic lives for all the animals on the farm, down by the creek and whatever animal that needed to be rescued too. By the time the sunset on the western horizon, her voice and opinions accomplished something worthwhile; a story.
Raising a family, throughout the years brought opportunities to have some fun and volunteer to become a storyteller for the local library and for entertaining elementary classrooms with lots of expressive reading. Then came bedtime stories throughout many years along with personal audio recordings of many, many books with comprehension questions discussed at the end just to make sure all homework was being completed and understood. This became a fun and expressive way to open up the minds and hearts of her children and grandchildren to appreciate books and the love of reading no matter what distance lies between them.
As life moved on attending the different events offered throughout Utah became the norm. Taking "research" to a whole new level, this could not be more fun and more enlightening, the many Meet and Greet's of favorite children's and YA (Young Adult) authors who were touring throughout Utah; attending many years of the famous annual Timpanogos Storytelling Festival; listening, talking, meeting and learning more about the industry straight from many talented voice actors, storytellers and narrators all gathered together (Check this out:
TIMPFEST and of course you cannot miss out on the fun and
exciting Comic Cons and Fan X conventions in Salt Lake City meeting all the GREATS in the voice acting industry and running around asking many questions, grabbing wisdom, photos and autographs. Then deep discussions about their favorite hints and tips for "behind the scenes" expertise, to boot. What a great way to learn!
The Gap;
The more she met and learned from these amazing mentors of the industry the more she gained a huge respect for the struggles of voice acting and the "man behind the curtain" daily tasks. Just like every career you will find many different opinions and styles. Finding your personal rhythm and working through the tedious, routines of office work, booth set-up and maintaining, equipment research and goals, learning new skills and technical software, developing your vocal reach, breathe control and flexibility all can be over whelming. At first you will see that everyone will have their own style and their own rhythm. Finding your personal niche and voice takes dedication, time, courage of heart, and lots of practice.
Discovering first hand, through her own studies and struggles, with understanding the mechanics of voice acting to reach some of her own personal goals Teresa wanted a way to celebrate the world of Voice Actors but found the area of merchandising for this industry lacking. She grabbed onto her skills for visual design, crafting, and dramatic expression along with her great organizational skills and Shout Out To Voice Over SOTVO is born.
Now whether you are new to voice acting or have many years under your belt, Teresa is hoping to reach out to all parts of the industry: corporate, anime, gaming, podcasting, booth work, audio editing D.A.W., animation, radio, e-learning, documentaries, and more offering a way that you can increase your networking opportunities, have client gifting options, brag a little, or just have some fun. Enjoy her unique, specialized designs while you perform your BOOTH MAGIC.
Our Vision;
Teresa continues to research and develop her skills as a voice actor by taking courses and certifications in Voice Acting and struggling through learning her D.A.W. Audio Editing skill set but as she grows in the industry she finds that her favorite niche is with children's elementary age scripts. She has now completed eight personally written children's books that is still in the finalizing stage of illustrations and formatting and should be available for sale next year. She has gone ahead and recorded them for audiobook format only at this time, especially for SOTVO, and these recordings will become available this fall 2025. Watch for their launch soon!
Great things are happening, as we grow our team Teresa hopes to make connections with the MENTORS and COACHES of the voice acting industry for access to future interviews, podcasts, and highlights so you will have their insights, hints and tips, and wisdom passed on from the masters of the industry.
The SOTVO Teams wishes you luck and HIGH-FIVE to your efforts and continued success in all of your career goals and dreams. Stay Focused and remember to Seize The Day
